Focus Areas for Thesis Projects
Production Planning:
- Development of a test bench for start-up trials in system assembly
- Optimization of production processes or the design of workplaces and work procedures
- Support during Start of Production (SOP)
New Product Innovation:
- Experimental investigations of a thermal management system based on heat pump technology for electrified construction and agricultural machinery
- Development of a mathematical method to identify the required thermal energy flows in a thermal management system
Testing Services:
- Thermodynamic potential analysis using the example of a thermal shock
- Assessment of the current state (heat flows, temperature levels)
- Model development
- Identification of usable potential to improve energy efficiency
- Development of possible energy efficiency measures (storage, heat recovery, etc.)
Research and Pre-Development:
- Performance and pressure loss measurements (e.g. evaporation / condensation of refrigerants)
- Cooler optimization using simulation tools (e.g. CFD)
- Material investigations (e.g. high-temperature fatigue strength of aluminum)
- Geometry optimization for the additive manufacturing of heat exchangers
What we require from you
- Studies in mechanical engineering, electrical / production engineering, industrial engineering, or a comparable field
- Confident use of MS Office
- High level of initiative and independent implementation of tasks
- Cooperative and team-oriented working style
- Fluent German language skills (negotiation level)
Thesis projects in other focus areas are possible by arrangement. Projects can also be completed as part of an internship or a working student position. Compensation depends on qualifications and the specific topic.
