Plant Manager (m/f)

Since 1919 the AKG Group is a specialist in the field of heat transfer. Our group of companies is financially sound, innovative and expanding. With about 2.500 employees at 12 locations in Europe, the Americas and Asia we develop and produce heat exchangers for a multitude of application areas and branches.
In 2019 a new company will be established in Mexico. Foundations and setting of plant is scheduled for 2021, start of deliveries for 2022. The company will produce heat exchangers for international and national customers and employ a staff of around 250 mid-term.
The Plant Manager reports directly to the Managing Director Operations of the Global Board.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Supports the set-up of the new production plant as well as the economical and efficient organization
  • Responsible for planning, budgeting, cost
  • Recruits and trains staff
  • Responsible for HR management and employee relationship in consideration of national and cultural requirements and conventions
  • Secures production targets (timing, quality, quantity) and cost-efficient manufacturing by lean management structures and transparent processes
  • Continuous improvement of processes and operations
  • Plans and realizes investments
  • Responsible for all compliance matters, incl. OSHA
  • Reports all essential development and KPIs to Global Board
  • Close cooperation with the production and engineering departments in Hofgeismar (headquarter) and the US companies

Job Qualifications

  • Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering; MBA as an advantage
  • Proven Knowledge of plant management or production management
  • Experience in manufacturing
  • Fluency in Spanish and English
  • Long-term experience in Mexican culture
  • Excellent organization skills, experienced in management of complex projects
  • Able to improvise, resilient, and reliable
  • Willing to travel abroad
