My journey at AKG began almost ten years ago, when I completed my apprenticeship as an industrial clerk. After gaining my first professional experience in the Order Center – a department I later returned to – I briefly worked outside the company. However, AKG’s strong company culture and sense of belonging soon brought me back.
A key milestone in my career was being actively involved in the relocation of the TTD to Hofgeismar. Shortly after, I rejoined the Order Center, where I continued to grow both professionally and personally. Throughout the years, AKG has always supported me with tailored training opportunities. I qualified as a certified customs specialist to meet the increasing demands of international export and later stepped into my first leadership role as a team leader. Today, I am proud to lead the Customer Service and Dispatching department. Alongside my role, I am currently continuing my education to become a certified business economist.
Why did you decide to return to AKG after your short time away?
The company culture at AKG is something truly special. The friendly, family-like atmosphere and the smooth, well-structured workflows made a lasting impression on me. These were exactly the reasons that motivated me to return. I genuinely enjoy coming to work every day and feel highly valued as part of the team.
How did you experience the transition into a leadership role?
Stepping into a leadership position was both challenging and rewarding, especially while continuing my professional education at the same time. But thanks to the strong support of my team and the trust placed in me by management, I was able to master this new chapter successfully. The collaboration and confidence from my colleagues have played a key role in my development.
How would you describe the company culture at AKG?
AKG’s culture is shaped by trust, open communication, and mutual support. Teamwork is not just a word here – it is lived every day. As a leader, this environment gives me the confidence and structure to grow, take initiative, and continuously improve together with my team.
Which career achievements are you most proud of?
I am particularly proud of how far I have come within the company. Being given the opportunity to take on a leadership role at a relatively young age is not something I take for granted. My apprenticeship, continuous development, and the trust I have received have shaped my career in a meaningful way.
What advice would you give to people considering a career at AKG?
Be open, curious, and willing to take initiative. At AKG, commitment and engagement are recognized and encouraged. Team spirit, flexibility, and a desire for personal development are key. Anyone who brings these qualities will find great opportunities to grow here.
What do you appreciate most about working in the Hofgeismar region?
Hofgeismar offers the perfect balance between professional life and personal well-being. Surrounded by beautiful nature yet close to Kassel, the region provides everything I need. The short, low-traffic commute is a huge plus and allows me to focus on what really matters – both at work and in my private life.
